AUTHENTIC PORTFOLIO INSTRUCTIONAL ASSESSMENT PROGRAM
With Reading and Writing Language Skills Development Exercises
(SSD/APIAP)
A student's language skills -- reading, writing, listening,
speaking and literature awareness and appreciation
-- develop sequentially throughout the entire educational
experience. |
|
The normal progression through school is 13 years,
(K - 12). However, few students receive their entire
educational experience in one instructional setting
or school system. Thus, enormous gaps may exist in
the quality, consistency and/or continuity of learning
experiences to develop the students listening, speaking,
reading and writing abilities as assessed by the new
state standards and examinations and,

The SSD/APIAP was developed to
address an avalanche of concerns regarding the results of
tests administered locally, statewide, and nationwide which indicate that
large numbers of our children do not read and write well enough to succeed
in their general studies or in non-school activities requiring those
language skills. These test results are confirmed by reports from
teachers, administrators, parents, employers and institutions of
government.

The Sequential Skills Development Series in the
English Language Arts, Pre-k to 13 and Adult and Continuing
Education, conforms to all five spirals of English Language Arts
curricula and may be used jointly by parents, teachers and
administrators to prepare students for not only their promotional
and competency examinations, but for the SAT, ACT, GRE
and lifetime learning as well.
